Social Networking Sites
The four websites I visited were Facebook,
Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. I
noticed that Facebook and Twitter users seemed to have more conversations
with each other. On YouTube the
comments section allows users to talk to each other but I find that mainly just
express their opinions separately from each other rather than as comments to
others. Pinterest users don't have conversations with each other to create
their community but they share images with each other. Twitter and Facebook
have similar layouts with the newsfeeds in the center and the sidebars that
have different tools. All the sites have a search bar for users to look for
specific content. Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest all provide private
messaging for users to talk to each other. I believe that Facebook and Twitter
are social networking sites that provide a stronger sense of community while
YouTube and Pinterest allow users to express their creativity.
