How do we use new media to share and take in news/information?

In today's day and age it's easy to see how new media has taken over as people's main method of getting news. Instead of reading the newspaper we can just search for the news online, read articles online or better yet just wait for the news to appear on our feeds. Though news is now easier to access because of the internet people may only be receiving a very small portion of it centered towards a specific point of view. For example,  if a person follows social media accounts and uses platforms that are conservative then most of there news may already be bias towards conservatism. There's also the issue of how people may read news on these new medias and view it as a fact without verifying with any other sources.
